Forged wheel

Forging is a process of shaping metal using localized compressive forces. The advantages of forging over other manufacturing processes include improved strength and ductility of the metal, better dimensional accuracy, and a more refined microstructure. Wheel rims can be forged using a variety of different methods, but cold forging is generally considered to be the best option for 17 inch rims. In this process, the metal is first heated to a temperature that is below its melting point. This makes the metal more malleable and easier to work with. Next, the metal is placed between two dies and then compressed using a forging press. This creates the desired shape while also strengthening the metal. Finally, the forged rim is cooled and then undergoes a final inspection before being installed on a vehicle.
